Celebration Dance to the Summit of Mt. Adams!

This September, I will attempt to dance my way to the 12,276-foot summit of Mt. Adams in celebration of 5 glorious years free from breast cancer! One thing my experience with BC has taught me, I can't sit around and wait to achieve my personal adventures and life's goals!

While the climb itself should be a lot of fun, there will be an added component to this physical adventure goal, something I would like your help and support with. As many of you know I love fly fishing! I have been involved with Casting for Recovery for four years since I participated in the Washington retreat and subsequently have volunteered for the Oregon North Retreats and the Washington Retreats.

Casting for Recovery® (CFR), a national 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, supports breast cancer survivors through a program that combines fly-fishing, counseling, and medical information to build a focus on wellness instead of illness. As a former participant and current volunteer for Casting for Recovery, I engage in fundraising activities to provide weekend retreats at no cost to the participant. Contributions to Casting for Recovery are used to pay for participants lodging, meals and professional fly-fishing instruction. The retreats are sponsored, supported and staffed by volunteers!

This is where you can help me celebrate, by sponsoring my climb and supporting CFR retreats in Washington, and northern Oregon. Secretly….. I would like to raise $2000.00 for the retreats! Your tax-deductible contribution of any amount can be made by check or credit card. CFR has kindly set up a donation page for me and my climbing team. We are happy to provide an official receipt if you so desire.

Please mail your contributions to CFR P.O. Box 1123 Manchester, VT 05254 or link to our climbing team’s donation web site. Identify the Celebration Dance and which state CFR retreat you are supporting on the check.

Thank you,

WooHoo! 5 Years cancer free! The heck with climbing… I’ll be dancing my way to the Summit!

Did you know: I celebrated my first year after my diagnosis and treatment with a tearful summit of Mt. St. Helens in 2006; I officially threw my cancer in the active erupting volcano!
